Privacy policy

GetFunding (“we”) is a GetApps product that connects startup founders with investors. This policy explains what we collect, who can see it, and how to delete it. The short version: your teaser is public, your pitch is visible only to investors we have verified, and your contact details are shared only when you accept an investor’s interest.
What we collect
- Account: your email address (used to send one-time sign-in codes), your name, and whether you are a founder or an investor.
- Profile (optional): headline, city and LinkedIn link.
- Founders: the startups you list: name, one-liner, sector, stage, city, website, amount raised, pitch text, traction figures, team members, links to your deck and demo video, and the contact details you choose to share.
- Investors: the verification you submit: investor type, firm, title, firm website, LinkedIn, sectors, stages, cheque size, thesis, portfolio, and, if you upload one, a proof document such as a SEBI Accredited Investor certificate. We also record the domain of your sign-in email and whether it matches your firm website.
- Activity: which pitches an investor opened and when, interests sent and their status, saved startups, vouch requests, and reports made by founders.
We do not use advertising trackers in the app, we do not sell data, and we do not store your pitch deck: you give us a link to a deck you host.
Who can see what
Everyone, including people who are not signed in: a live startup’s name, one-liner, sector, stage, city, website, founding year, team size and amount raised.
Verified investors: the full pitch of a live startup. Each time they open one, their name, firm and the time are recorded and shown to the founder.
After a founder accepts an interest: the founder’s shared contact details go to that investor, and the investor’s email goes to that founder.
Founders receiving an interest: the investor’s name, title, firm, LinkedIn, cheque size, sectors, portfolio and verification signals.
Our reviewers: investor verification details, proof documents and reports, to decide who is verified.
These rules are enforced by the database’s row-level security, not just by the app’s screens.
How we use it
- To run the service: sign you in, show startups, deliver interests and exchange contacts when both sides agree.
- To verify investors and protect founders: reviewing applications, limiting how many new pitches an investor can open a day, and acting on reports.
- To contact you about your account, such as sign-in codes and verification decisions.
Where it is stored
Data is stored with Supabase (PostgreSQL and file storage) on our behalf. Proof documents are kept in a private bucket readable only by you and our reviewers, and reviewers open them through links that expire after five minutes.
Screenshots and watermarks
To discourage leaks, pitch screens show the viewing investor’s email as a watermark. Android blocks screenshots on those screens and iOS hides them from screen recordings. We do not capture or upload anything from your screen.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account exists. Deleting your account from Profile → Delete account, or through this page, permanently removes your profile, startups, pitches, contacts, interests, saved items, pitch-view history and uploaded documents. Reports you filed about others are kept, without your identity, when needed to protect other users.
Your rights
You can view and edit your data in the app at any time. To request a copy or a correction, or to ask about anything in this policy, email support@getapps.tech.
Children
GetFunding is for adults raising or investing money. It is not directed at anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
